Fall Family Day

Join us on Sunday, October 30th from 12pm to 3pm at Ridgeway Middle School for our annual Fall Family Day. This year, we are partnering with Ridgeway Middle School for a fun day for the entire family. The cost is FREE and concessions will be sold. Come hungry and eat some good food. All proceeds will go toward the Ridgeway Middle School sports program.

Uh oh…Church Discipline (2 Corinthians 2)

This is not one of those “fun” passages of scripture. Mostly because the implications are pretty unsettling. The “pain” in which Paul references is probably a letter that he wrote sometime between 1 Corinthians and 2 Corinthians. Theologians refer to this letter as the “Severe Letter.” Obviously, we do not have access to this letter. 

What was going on in Corinth that precipitated Paul’s severe discipline? From the outset of these two letters to the Corinthians, we see that there is a political struggle going on in the church. There is great division but, apparently, there is one particular antagonist who stirs the waters of this division; one who wields great influence. If he is does not repent, the entire Christian community at Corinth is at risk of being lost.
